Please take note that this article is fictitious. Besides a few political associations, any similarities to present-day names of people and institutions are purely coincidental.
The futuristic article below appeared in the local media in the year 2061. The article is about a white Arzanian, one of the last few still in existence on Arzanian soil. The name "Arzania" is the futuristic new name for present-day South Africa. The man was experiencing difficulties while exercising his right to register as a voter in a landmark referendum on independence from Eastern Arzania.

White Arzenian speaks his mind

“The Afrikaners of Arzania are a unique people. We are not Zulu, Xhosa, or Zimbabwean, but we are Arzanian," George Pretorius (34) says proudly as he recalls that it was his white forefathers who founded the regional capital of Gauteng.White Arzenian speaks his mind

"I am one of the last of the white Arzanians," he adds sadly, acknowledging that after the ravaging exploits of the old ANC regime, and the genocide of white farmers and civilians by racist blacks, he is the only pure-blooded Arzanian-born descendant of the original white Boer settlers.
George, a migrant-resident of Cape Town, works for Imfihlo Isitimela Rail Security, and spends much of his time travelling between Cape Town and Egoli. Thank goodness I wear protective gear from head to toe! The commuters in Eastern Arzania have no idea that I am a white man,” says George.
Born in 2027 on the outskirts of the City of Tshwane (old Pretoria) near Kameeldrift in Gauteng, - also the birthplace of his murdered parents, George attempted to exercise his right to register in this week's landmark referendum on independence from Eastern Arzania.
"It was difficult to register in Gauteng because they have never before seen a white Arzanian in that province," George said.
George was only 17 years old when the People’s Congress of Arzania (PCA) overthrew the old ANC regime in the controversial landslide election of 2044. He joined the West Arzanian Resistance Movement (WARM) at the age of 20. It was a 15-yearlong fierce conflict that raged between WARM and the ANC rebel forces lead by General Gedleyihlekisa Malema.
The conflict ended in August 2052 with the signing of the Ga-Segonyana Accords to create a power-sharing tripartite government with the PCA, COSATU, and the Democratic Islamic Alliance (DIA).
“The war ruined the last great structures built by my forefathers. The old ruins of the Voortrekker Monument are overgrown with creepers; a heap of rubble lies on the hill where the old beautiful Union Buildings once stood: vagrants have occupied the decaying remains of universities and countless other institutions in Eastern Arzania. The Bombela railway-system has been bombed into non-existence! Talking about it makes me feel really sad,” says George.
George now supports the officially recognized opposition, the West Arzanian Party (WAP), who control the vast majority of Cape Coloured districts in Western Arzania. “Afrikaans-speaking people are now the officially recognized opposition in Arzania,” George said.
“Cape Town is the only city in the country that has managed to preserve its original colonial name. Here everyone, except the Asian minority, still speak Afrikaans,” George says, with a hint of conceited pride in his voice.

Now if you think this article is ridiculous or far-fetched, then read about South Sudan's lost white tribe. It was from that article that I got the inspiration to write this futuristic one.
