Eating an Elephant for an Independent Homeland

This posting can be considered as a continuation of the previous article concerning
a future Independent Homeland in South Africa. Although at this point in time, it does not seem that the majority of South Africans actually consider the possibility that there will one day be a cultural and/or religious division among East and West within the borders of the country, there are already several indicators that this has already begun. Besides other factors, the 2009 South African election results also correlate well with linguistic-culture distribution maps.

Ask any Whiteman, who is living in Gauteng and nearing retirement age, or who has already retired, and 5 out of 10 will tell you that if they cannot leave the country, then their dream is to move to the Cape. If you ask them to give reasons, the dilemma of personal safety and the wellbeing of their families always crops up as the main issue.

Their reasons will be motivated by detailed accounts of how many times their homes have been burgled, how many times their vehicles have been broken into – this despite the amount of money they have spent on securing their homes and vehicles! Others will elaborate more, and grumble about the filthy beggars on the streets, poor municipal services, or how fed-up they are of seeing their once well kept neighbourhoods dwindling into a state of decadence, as informal taxi ranks, street traders, shebeen and drug venues, etc. are slowly but surely dominating the scene.

Then there are the unknown number of White people, rich and poor, Englishmen and Afrikaners alike, who have already made their move to the Cape. In my own family I already have quite a number of uncles and aunts, nephews and nieces, who have made the Cape their new home. (I have recently been invited by these people to join them, but I’ve declined their invites as my plans to relocate to the UK are already in an advanced state of progress.)

In every single country on this earth you will find divisions based on class, culture, race, language, and religion. It is a natural phenomenon that is unstoppable! It is therefore not surprising that nature will also take its course in multicultural environments where people are forced to live together. Sooner or later you will find preferred public facilities (restaurants, pubs, clubs, sports venues, churches, … you name it!) graced with a presence of a majority who share the same ethical morals, values, interests, and language. Those who don’t share these similarities will soon feel unwelcome, and eventually fade away – like morning mist over the ocean.

In the previous article dealing with this issue, the demographics of the country (based on the 2001 census) showed a noticeable partition between East and West. I also highlighted the fact that the region surrounding Upington in the Northern Cape constituted a fairly large area dominated by a White Afrikaans-speaking population.

In compiling the previous article I never took into account the objectives of the newly established Cape Party (CAPE), a political party in South Africa which seeks to use all constitutional and legal means to bring about independence for the Western Cape, Northern Cape (excluding two districts), six municipalities in the Eastern Cape, and one municipality in the Free State.

It was only later, after my article was already published, and when I finally found the time to have a look at their mandate and proposals, that I discovered that, besides the difference in the demarcation of the Eastern inland boundary, my proposed demarcation-map looks identical to theirs. I suppose no one is going to believe me now, but that is the truth – take it, or leave it! (Bear in mind that my fleeting online research on this subject was done in a matter of hours, in less than a day!)

Nevertheless, I decided to browse their website, but was disappointed to find a rather modest collection of facts and data. The Wikipedia page dealing with the Cape Party mentions that their website was hacked and defaced by vandals on 17 March 2009 (News report here). Numerous old dead links in the reference-section of the Wiki-page is already an indication that a passion to promote their cause is severely lacking.

All things considered, (and there is a lot to be considered), the Cape party’s various legal provisions and frameworks, which they mention to support their mandate that the "Cape Nation" has a right to self-government, all looks suitably adequate.

For the record I will duplicate the main points, with references to external online sources:

  • the South African constitution, which guarantees the right to self-determination of any community sharing a common cultural and language heritage [1]
  • the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which states that all people have the right to self-determination and to pursue economic, social and cultural development, and that they may freely dispose of their natural wealth and resources without prejudice. The covenant also declares that states party to it must promote the realization of those rights. [2]
  • article 1 of the United Nations Charter [3]
  • various UN General Assembly resolutions dealing with self-determination, sovereignty and independence [4][5][6][7][8][9]
  • chapter 1, article 20 of the Organization of African Unity's African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights, which states that all people have an inalienable right to self-determination, and declares that oppressed people have the right to free themselves from domination by any means recognized by the international community. (The Cape Party refers to this document as "African Union: Human and Peoples' Rights".) [10]

A facebook page called, KaapDie GoeieHoop, with a current membership of only 522, is supporting the Cape Party cause. Dr Dan Roodt (Praag) is one of the supporting members. Conversations on their wall seem to revolve around music, videos, FB apps, and senseless chatter, – everything but politics!

Another facebook page called, Cape Independence, also exists but they’ve blocked outside users from viewing profile information.

The notes-section on KaapDie GoeieHoop, displays two annotations related to the Cape Party mandate. I’ve taken the liberty of copy/pasting the second commentary in this posting. I do not know who the writer is, and can only presume that it must be the anonymous creator of the facebook page.

Can the Afrikaners be Saved?
by KaapDie GoeieHoop on Sunday, 11 April 2010 at 01:33

From the above (referring to the first commentary on their FB note-page), it is clear that the use of nonwhite labor was the direct cause of the downfall of apartheid and white rule in South Africa. Afrikaners lost control of the country because of their lack of understanding of demographics, and not due to farfetched “conspiracies” or “betrayals,” as many would like to believe.

This occupation took place because white South Africa failed to understand that if they employed black labor, those blacks would inevitably form the majority in that society, and ultimately–and rightly–demand political power.

The question therefore arises: given the current situation, can the Afrikaners be saved?

The answer is relatively simple:

* In a united South Africa, in which they are the perpetual minority, the answer is no.

* In a smaller region where Afrikaners form the majority population, the answer is yes.

No minority has every survived indefinitely in the face of a growing hostile majority, particularly one in South Africa where the material discrepancy between white and black is so vast.

There is only one way in which Afrikaners can be saved. This would be if firstly they came to an understanding of the relationship between demographics and political power; and secondly, if they then adjust their expectations and political behavior in accordance with their actual numbers and their ability to majority occupy territory.

Only once a majority of Afrikaners understand this truth, can there even begin to be talk of a practical plan for saving them from ultimate long-term extermination at the hands of the Third World.

Theoretically, if a majority of Afrikaners should come to this understanding, then it would be possible for Afrikaners to save themselves–as no one else is going to save them.

Let us be positive and say that theoretically, Afrikaners did come to an understanding of the relationship between demographics and power politics.

Then they would stop wasting time blaming crackpot conspiracies for their downfall, and stop dancing around wasting time playing party politics in a majority rule system in which they are just as doomed to failure as they were under apartheid. Instead, they would start practically working toward creating a territory or region in which they became the demographic majority.

This would, as a result of their small numbers, be a much smaller territory than the current area of South Africa. Its exact location can be decided when and if that time ever comes. However, it must be majority occupied by Afrikaners (like Israel was created by being majority occupied by Jews), and those who settle there must be prepared to do their own labor. (There are immense problems in this, and this writer would be pleasantly surprised if the majority of Afrikaner farmers could be persuaded to dispense with their hundreds of farm laborers and mechanize like their American counterparts; or if the majority of white South African households could be persuaded to make their own beds and wash their own dishes instead of using the plentiful “maids,” but that is another story.)

Yes, this means gathering together the stock Afrikaner nation into a defined area. For example (and this is just a theoretical example), if 500,000 Afrikaners had to settle in the old Eastern Transvaal, and physically occupy it, then this territory would de facto, and later even de jure, become an Afrikaner state.

The only way that Afrikaners can be spared the fate of all First World minorities in Africa, is for them to abandon their dependence on nonwhite labor, accept that their salvation lies in a smaller territory, and congregate in that smaller territory where they will form an outright demographic majority.

There is no other way: all else is chaff in the wind. History will tell if the Afrikaners have it within them to undertake this second Great Trek.

--- end commentary by KaapDie GoeieHoop

Well dear readers, the final paragraph in the above commentary basically sums things up. I personally think it is time for the big bullies (DA and ANC) to get their feathers ruffled.

The 2011 Municipal Elections will probably take place in April this year. Preparations and accommodation alone are apparently going to cost the South African tax payer in the region of R230 million, – so you might as well do your bit, as we all know how to eat an elephant, don’t we?

After more than 3 years on these blogs TIA, I am sorry but I do not see that working. You just need to read the South African blogs and forums to see the attitude with regards to 'race relations' and the view towards anyone that is not white to see it will never work. Personally I would just wait for the system to collapse and see what comes from it.

Under apartheid Cape Coloured identity, history and culture was removed. When the blacks took over, the Cape Coloureds had to be pushed aside for the bottom end jobs to make way for blacks even though they are the minority in the Western Cape. It's a no win situation with either black or white.

I am glad for these blogs though as it highlights what people REALLY think of each other. Truth be told, even I would object to the above plan you have after getting to know the current mindset of white South Africa.

What you lot don't seem to understand on these blogs is that we have nothing to win or to lose at the end of the day when it comes to black and white. We don't have a history, culture or an identity to protect - YOU have.

Why don't you just grow your Orania and leave us out of this. Who the hell wants to continue being a second class citizen under the next white rule simply so you can protect YOUR culture, traditions and identity?

I agree, in principle, with the sentiments you expressed in the first 3 paragraphs of your comment. If you read this posting carefully you will notice that I have chosen my wording cautiously. The opening paragraph is referring to the majority of South Africans, which includes all South Africans – irrespective of race, language, or culture.

The previous posting related to this one, states in its opening paragraph: “It does not matter from what angle one approaches the subject of White self-rule, for at the end of the day all visions of an independent White Homeland within the borders of South Africa will forever remain an unrealistic dream. The reason why I said this is because the demographics of this country clearly shows that black Africans, from many diverse African tribes, form the overwhelming majority. It is that majority sheeple who will always vote for the ANC in this country. Even in Orania, which can hardly be called a White Homeland, some confused individual voted for the ANC.

The ANC does not care about the civil and human rights of minorities in this country. Their main objective is to enrich themselves and to plunder the country, and while they’re doing that they also have to keep the sheeple in a state of obedience, or else they’ll send in the troops to beat them into submission.

Can you not see that the same force who controlled the rulers of the apartheid system (after the period when that great man and Christian Dr Verwoerd was murdered), are the same evil force who are controlling the ANC Regime today?

We, the people of this country (White, Coloured and Black) are fed-up of being manipulated by these super-elite ‘comrades’ who are working to further satan’s cause. I say… it is about time we ruffle their feathers, and the only way that can be done is to vote them out of existence, as achieving that by brut force is totally out of the question!

Change is not going to happen overnight, as there are far too many brainwashed and confused sheeple who cannot see that in 50 – 100 years from now this country will be a pit of hell for anyone who still believes in decent morals and values. THAT my friend, is satan’s objective on planet Earth!

You said: “Why don't you just grow your Orania and leave us out of this. Who the hell wants to continue being a second class citizen under the next white rule simply so you can protect YOUR culture, traditions and identity?”

Short Answer:
A next white rule is not going to happen in South Africa, because -- as Arthur Kemp once said: "Demographics is destiny". Only a future miracle, or a major God-inspired natural disaster, will change the population-demographics (destiny) of this country!

There is no short answer to the last part (2nd sentence) in you comment. One will have to first define what exactly is a “second class citizen”, and secondly, what exactly is meant by the concepts “culture”, “traditions” and “identity”, for it doesn’t always represent Race? A Muslim (or Christian) will define the concepts differently.

All I know is that about 80% of the current population in SA are Christian. The vast majority of Afrikaners in SA are Christian, and at this moment in time, they seem to be the only people who are fighting to protect the concepts you’ve mentioned. A very small percentage of likeminded folk (Blacks and Coloureds) are supporting them. The current ANC regime are intent on destroying this group of likeminded folk, and also the symbols that represent their beliefs. They are doing it blatantly, by way of genocide, and also subtly via the MSM they control. This brings me back, full-circle, to where I left off, -- it is also satan’s objective!

Thanks for the invite to come to America. Most of my Afrikaans buddies (mainly ex-work colleagues) are living there since 1994. When they left they promised to open op avenues for the rest of us, -- I am still waiting!

During 1986 the ANC launched an underground operation called Operation Vula. A lesser-known fact is that it continued to operate after Nelson Mandela's release in February 1990, and for three years after his speech in August 1990 when he reiterated the total commitment of the ANC, Umkhonto we Sizwe and the SACP to the Groote Schuur Minute.

The Yellow-Bucket Marula Tree: A Mystery Solved! - Oct. 2013
I came across a rather strange phenomenon one day while travelling along the R561 route between Tolwe and Baltimore in the Limpopo province of South Africa. A small yellow bucket was attached high-up in a branch of a Marula tree, hence the name of this posting. It’s a real funny story which I’m sure most readers will enjoy - as much as I enjoyed compiling the article  - (with illustrations).

Pretoria’s Monument for Victims of Terrorism - July 2013
Many people (including myself) had almost forgotten about a noteworthy monument in Pretoria that stood at the entrance of the old Munitoria building on the corner of Van der Walt and Vermeulen Streets (now renamed Lilian Ngoyi and Madiba Streets). When the Munitoria building was demolished on 7 July 2013 nobody could tell me whether the monument was still standing or not, so I decided to go look for myself.

Remembering The Battle of Delville Wood - July 2013
14 July marks a day when the South African 1st Infantry Brigade got engaged in the 1916 (WW1) Battle of the Somme, in France. The battle was one of the largest of World War I, in which more than a million men were wounded or killed, making it one of humanity's bloodiest battles. One specific encounter during this battle, known as The Battle of Delville Wood, is of particular importance to South Africa. The posting includes a comprehensive article (with pictures) compiled and written by Petros Kondos.
