Dr Dirk Hermann, deputy general secretary of Solidarity, has recently written a book entitled Basta! Ons voetspore is in Afrika. The book is written in the format of a letter to Hermann’s four daughters.
“The way our history is portrayed is no longer reliable and therefore we have a responsibility to teach our children about our history. History is often used as an instrument to instil guilt in the Afrikaner, which turns our children into victims,” explains Hermann.
The book tells the story of ordinary Afrikaners and challenges all Afrikaners to rediscover their African and Afrikaner identity in the modern era. Basta! Ons voetspore is in Afrika is the history of the Afrikaner in a nutshell. All the major, identity-forming events like the Great Trek, the Boer wars and stories about concentration camps, exiles, apartheid and the Afrikaner after 1994 come to life in this book.
The book costs R95 and is distributed by Kraal-Uitgewers (Publishers).
More information about the book, in Afrikaans, can be viewed on the website of Kraal-Uitgewers: www.kraaluitgewers.co.za/boeke/basta
The book can also be ordered by sending the word “Basta” via sms to 34388.
The book was apparently launched last week Thursday, on 2 December 2010, at the Boer Concentration Camp-cemetery in Irene. The ceremony, branded as the Basta-project, was attended by a few well-known Afrikaners, among others: Gerrie Pretorius, Carel Trichardt, Petru Wessels, dr. Willem Cruywagen, Flip Buys, Magda van Biljon, Zack du Plessis and Frik du Preez. Source
As part of the campaign children’s footprints were reproduced on certificates in a symbolic gesture to endorse their African identities. Casts were also moulded from the feet of several Afrikaner celebrities who attended the event. As expected, the South African media did not give much coverage to this event. An article promoting the event, written in Afrikaans, can be viewed on www.koerant.co.za.
A related article was also published today (2010-12-05) in the Afrikaans Rapport, the ANC’s mainstream media-propaganda outlet. (Click here to view the online version)
A brief synopsis in English, written by Ilze Nieuwoudt, can be viewed on the Solidarity Website: www.solidaritysa.co.za.
The Opinion of Tia Mysoa
Although it is heart-warming, gratifying, touching, commendable… and so forth, to see that Solidarity is making serious efforts to boost the morale of Afrikaners in this country, it is, in my opinion, too late to remove the enormous guilt complexes that currently exist in the minds of present-day White African adults and also their children!
Dr Dirk Hermann’s words, “the way our history is portrayed is no longer reliable…”, is an understatement! One only has to have a quick peak at the contents of the so-called “History Classroom” section of www.sahistory.org.za to see how the future generation of children in South Africa are being brainwashed with Communist-Marxist propaganda on a mass scale.
The website uses the slogan: “STRENGHTHENING (SIC) THE TEACHING OF HISTORY” a catchphrase which means exactly the opposite! The SA History website is an online resource for teachers and students, and is managed in association with the Department Of Education. God help our teachers!
Yuri Bezmenov (ex-KGB defector) was one of 100’s of well-informed individuals who warned western societies about the subversive tactics of Marxist-Leninist ideas. Although Bezmenov spoke about the demoralization process in the United States, his views pertain equally well to what has been happening in South Africa during the past 20 odd years. During an interview with Edward Griffin in 1994, Bezmenov said: “The demoralization process in the United States is basically completed already for the last 25 years. Actually, it's over fulfilled because demoralization now reaches such areas where not even Comrade Andropov and all his experts would even dream of such tremendous success. Most of it is done by Americans to Americans thanks to lack of moral standards.”
According to Yuri Bezmenov the great brainwashing process is divided into four basic stages, the first one being "demoralization". It takes from 15 to 20 years to demoralize a nation. Why that many years? Because this is the minimum number of years required to educate one generation of students in the country of your enemy exposed to the ideology of [their] enemy.
Although I quite like the sincere and frank manner in which Bezmenov puts his ideas across, the main reason why I’ve integrated his views into this posting, is because Bezmenov makes reference to a BIG TRUTH that the majority of South Africans do not want to accept or understand. The truth is that the process of demoralization is COMPLETE AND IRREVERSIBLE. In other words, as stated by Bezmenov: “You cannot change their mind even if you expose them to authentic information. Even if you prove that white is white and black is black, you still can not change the basic perception and the logic of behaviour.”
Although I’ve included the video of Bezmenov’s interview below, which is definitely worth watching, readers can also click here to see a partial transcript of the interview - also worth reading!
The bottom line is this:
Books such as Basta! Ons voetspore is in Afrika, and similar publications, will not change the perception nor the behaviour of South Africans to such a degree that it will be noticeable. South Africans of all races and cultures, which includes the vast majority of Afrikaners, have already adopted the attitude of – ‘if we cannot beat them, let’s join them, and if we don’t want to join them, let us at least not show how fuming mad and angry we’ve become, for every time we do that, -- we lose!” Although it will be a good idea if translated copies of these books became available in English, Zulu and Xhosa, it will never - not in the next 100 years, become compulsory or recommended textbook material in the curriculum of our State schools, for the sad truth of the matter is that the ideology of Marxist-Communism has been adopted by the satanic forces ruling this planet, - unfortunately!
Even I have become quite demoralized (and depressed) just by thinking and writing about this subject, and also by reading about all the horrid crimes and atrocities that are being perpetrated in this country on a daily basis, and also the propaganda that is being published in our newspapers. I cannot wait for the day I finally depart from this godforsaken country, to a faraway serene and tranquil place in Northumberland in northern England, where MY forefathers once left their footprints. I will never be ashamed of the fact that I was once a White African and that half my heritage is Boer, but while this noble breed of people are being gradually exterminated, I say it’s time to move on.
" Ya basta - enough is enough! "
